Fun and Funds!

May 18, 2017

Does the idea of reaching out to individuals to ask for donations make you uncomfortable?

I understand that – no matter how much you care about a cause, soliciting donations can be difficult. So why not try a different approach? How about a fundraising event?

Below is a list of simple ideas for ways to get your community together for fun and funds!

1. Host a BBQ
Whether it’s in your backyard or in the park, get your pals together, throw some hot dogs, hamburgers, and veggie patties on the grill, share a laugh, and collect donations for WAVAW! Simply leave a donation tub by the condiments and let the cash roll in.

2. Organize a clothing swap
Have your friends bring their used clothes over to your house and do an exchange. A donation to WAVAW gets you in the door – and everyone walks out the door feeling fly!

3. Manicures and MoviesCat + Nail File
This one takes minimal planning. Pull out the nail polish, pull up a movie, invite your closest friends over, and get to painting! You can do the manicures, or they can be DIY. Either way it will be a fun night, and a low pressure event for both you and your friends.

Always be sure to let guests know in advance that you will be collecting donations so they come prepared to donate.
