At Salal, we believe that creating safer environments, building communities of care, and sparking critical conversations about the conditions that allow sexualized violence to occur can truly shift society for the better.
Through our volunteer program, workshops and trainings that challenge oppressive systems and explore the roots of sexualized violence, and formal outreach opportunities, we aim to create real, systemic change.
Volunteer
As a volunteer you can support survivors in multiple ways: through direct emotional and logistical support as Crisis Line & Support Group volunteers, or by advocating for structural change that centers survivors as Outreach & Fundraising volunteers.
You can also provide essential administrative support to our organization by signing up to be an Office volunteer.
Rooted in mutual aid, our revolutionary Crisis Line & Support Group Volunteer Training Program builds on over 40 years of community care and solidarity with survivors.
Education & Workshops
Rooted in an intersectional feminist, anti-oppressive, and decolonizing approach, our trainings, workshops, and speaking events spark real change.
They challenge norms and reshape the world around us.
Through our workshops, participants gain the tools to understand sexualized violence and rape culture, confront the systemic barriers survivors face, learn how to offer survivor-centered support, navigate legal systems, and stand in solidarity with Two-Spirit, trans, non-binary, and gender diverse survivors and much more.
