donate-2When WAVAW was founded over 30 years ago, the work started with one woman and one crisis line. She responded with, “I believe you.” Three simple words that re-connect survivors to humanity after such brutality.

Many women encounter victim blaming, shaming and doubt that their experience really happened. At WAVAW, we believe in women and that their experiences are the truth. Unfortunately, society has not changed their view of survivors of sexual assault.

Today, will you stand in support of survivors of sexual assault? Please make a gift of $50 to support 1 hour of counseling.

As recently as November 2015, news broke about the University of British Columbia’s process for reporting instances of sexual assault and harassment, and showing the system as broken, dysfunctional and sexist. With over 23,000 female students on their Vancouver campus, their response to survivors of sexual assault is unacceptable.

UBC is just one institution in our community. There are so many others that are just as broken when it comes to appropriately supporting survivors of sexual assault. WAVAW’s services have never been more necessary for women in our community.

Please make your $50 gift today to help end violence against women.

P.S. This year over 7583 donors have donated to WAVAW to support survivors of sexual assault. Will you join them? Please donate today.
